Entre Tres Artistas. El Faro: 2004.

ARTIST STATEMENT.

While I was Artist in resident at El Faro, I conducted a workshop with several promising young artists. In the first part of the workshop we began creating hand made paintings beause I wanted to utilize the beautifully instense pigments of Mexico. Next, I designed an overall plan for the mural at El Faro. With the previous knowledge that we would be creating two murals each 40ft in length and 8ft in diameter (these tunnels were once used as water passage ways, distributing water to the Cultural Center of El Faro)as we created a continous mural using the outer dimension of the tunnels as a way to invite the viewer inside the tunnels.
